So here we are: winter is a mashup of springs and falls with some snow thrown in here and there for effect.  The earth is groaning, people are still having babies and killing each other.  We’ve been shooting a series of videos for our YouTube channel, some just us, some with local friends/musicians.  We’re putting together some dates for this year in Philly as well as a small tour in NY state.  We’re hunkering down and working, getting ready for new life this spring!

We’re currently playing once or twice a month in Philly and looking forward to performing at Philadelphia Folk Festival for the first time this August.  Then we’ll be taking September off for some travel and family time, and we’ll keep bringing the music this Fall and Winter.

While winter keeps us inside mostly, we’re busy getting ready for spring and summer shows, a new CD (hopefully this year), and a regular gig at a new grill in town–we’ll keep you posted!

We are happy to announce the addition of upright bass player Christian Hencek to our group. That means we’re busy learning music together, writing new songs, and getting ready for the summer festival season. You can check out our video submission for NPR’s 2018 Tiny Desk Contest here: Midnight Taxi

We’re excited to announce that our new CD is here!  It features eleven original songs and all original artwork and is available for digital download from iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-carryons/1286270209 or cdbaby https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/thecarryons3 If you want a physical copy please send us an email and we’ll get it to you.

We’re also planning a CD release show this winter in the Philadelphia area and we’re working on lots of new music.  Winter is a great time to hunker down and practice, write, woodshed, and get ready to share new things with you.

Available in green, yellow, and blue and in sizes Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large, our new T shirts cost $15 each or 3 for $30.  We can ship to you or you can pick them up at a local gig.  Send us a message at thecarryonsband@gmail.com to order.

WINTER 2016-2017

Welcome to The Carryons’ website, thanks for visiting!  We are currently in the process of recording our first LP which we plan to release in the Spring of 2017. We’re very excited about it and are working hard so that people can take our music with them; it will also be released on itunes, but more about all that once it’s closer.

We just released our first live video edited by Luke Risher; you can watch it on our Youtube channel (click on the icon above).

If you’re in the Philly area you can catch one of our regular gigs in Germantown or  in Old City during Sunday brunch. Please see our gig schedule for details or call the venue.

Looking forward to seeing you!
